Sports Project 2009

In August 2009 a group of Year 11 sports leaders visited Hillcrest for the first time.

The 12 English students came from a school in Hillingdon along with their P.E. teacher  and spent 3 weeks working in three township primary schools.

They taught sports skills to both pupils and teachers. (The township teachers had no previous training in sports skills during their teacher training.)

Sports taught included:

  • Volleyball
  • Netball
  • Soccer

They were also introduced to Cricket and Tennis skills.

The visit to 3 South African primary schools to teach sport both the children and the teachers was completed successfully and below are several pictures.
