Beautiful beads!

September 25, 2023

Within the space of a week, we have held two fabulous bead sales and raised an amazing £239.50!

A huge thank you to St Alphage Church in Enfield for inviting us to their fun filled fashion show and to Holy Innocents in Hornsey for letting us join their wonderful Autumn fair again.

At Holy Innocents, we were joined by their own Father Ben Kerridge and later by the Mayor of Haringey, Councillor Lester Buxton.

As always we got some lovely feedback about the quality of the beadwork made by Woza Moya, an economic empowerment project run by the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust SA.

It was wonderful seeing our founder, Margaret Turnbull’s face light up as she described the way the (mainly) women work so fast and skilfully on the beautiful pieces.

One of the visitors to the fair commented about us on social media saying that she,

“…loved the Hillcrest stall, we got our Christmas decorations and our World AIDS Day badges.”

A great time was had by all at both events. Thank you to everyone involved in organising them and thank you to everyone who visited our stalls.

If you are holding an event and can offer us a stall, please do contact us. Every single penny raised goes back into the projects we run.

I enjoyed socialising with the children and understanding the depth of their appreciation for what we had done. It was astonishing to see how much they valued what we had done. Getting to know their aspirations and abilities was amazing.
