For the first time in December 2008, at the end of the South African school year, a group of 16 pupils in the final year of primary education from 4 rural township primary schools were taken on a two day safari to an educational camp in the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. This was a reward for pupils’ efforts and achievement during the past year. For most this was despite extreme difficulties.
From 2011 the trip, due to the ever growing cost, moved to Spirit of Adventure Leadership Camp in Shongweni. The camps provide fun and exciting leadership and team building activities as well as an opportunity to gain life experiences that they would otherwise never be exposed to.
