Today is World Children’s Day and there’s no better way to celebrate than introduce Lihle! This year’s theme is: “For every child, every right”, which includes the right to education. Education transforms lives, which is why we are going to be supporting and encouraging Lihle through High School.
Lihle is currently a pupil at a school in a valley below Inchanga, in rural KwaZulu Natal. But from January 2024, she will be taking up an assisted place that has been offered by a great high school in Hillcrest (KZN).
Lihle’s new school is generously covering 70% of the school fees, which means we only have to pay 30% of the school fees, plus transport costs, school uniform, and school stationery and equipment.
We are therefore looking for people to sponsor Lihle or to help us cover the remaining costs of her schooling. If you would like to do this (either as a one off, or by making a regular donation) then please donate here.
Lihle is both nervous and very excited about the opportunity to attend the new school. And we are excited about Lihle’s future having seen the wonderful impact of education transforming the lives of other students we have supported over years, including Amanda and Kwenele who have done so well at school that they head to university in the coming months – (more news about them later!)
We wish Lihle all the very best as she embarks on this next step in her education. And of course we will keep you posted on her progress.
