In mid-August, 49 hospitality students from Obed-Mlaba Technical School in KwaZulu-Natal, served up a feast in their practical exams, and how the shone!
The young chefs in the making, aged between 15 and 18, were each set the task of preparing and cooking a three-course meal, with a starter, main and desert. Presentation was essential and included ensuring the tables were beautifully laid for the dinner.

From elegant Quiche Lorraine to delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu and Lamb Shank, the menus were designed to tickle tastebuds. Refreshing fruity drinks were served and deserts of mouth-watering Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue and Panna Cotta graced the tables.

“The learners love the subject. They participate very, very well and they do very well because they love the subject so much,” said Obed-Mlaba Technical School Hospitality teacher, Mrs Malevu.
