Looking up!

February 26, 2025

Ceilings are going up in the two newest classrooms at Obed Mlaba Technical School in South Africa! More classrooms mean a better learning environment for the students and teachers at the school.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Kloof Rotary  who are funding one of the classrooms, and to our own dedicated funders who are enabling us to fund the second.  We’re so grateful for your generous support in empowering the students.

“It is always exciting seeing new facilities being built at the Obed Technical School. For the teachers having quality facilities is very important and raises moral in these difficult times. The Technical school, like most other schools in township areas in KwaZulu-Natal, is short of teachers and the financial means to employ them, so we are doing what we can to support the school in these circumstances,” said our founder Dr Margaret Turnbull.

To help us build brighter futures, please consider making a donation here.

Note: We are a UK Registered Charity. If you are a UK taxpayer, consider UK Gift Aid, which means we receive from the UK government (HMRC), an additional 25% on top of your donation. And if you are a UK company, you can also qualify for tax relief on your donation.

I learnt that the situation in our local community with regards to adequate learning facilities is far worse than I thought. The project opened my eyes to the struggle that many young learners are facing on a day to day basis.
