Q. How do you achieve effective classroom management?
A. With great training!
We are excited to announce that the staff we trained at three schools in South Africa are now ready to implement their newly acquired skills and strategies. They have everything in place for the start of the new school year in January.
Over several months this year, teachers, Departmental Heads and School Principals participated in training on classroom behaviour management. The sessions, delivered by two experienced trainers – our very own Margaret Turnbull in partnership with Yvonne Johnson from Partners for Possibility, covered different aspects of behaviour management and equipped the staff with strategies and tools for them to use effectively.

The staff from Makhawula Primary school, Bonela Primary School, and Kloof Junior Primary School in KwaZulu-Natal participated in four sessions which also included practising the new strategies within the classroom, strategies such as how to maintain their pupils’ focus on their schoolwork. Following these practice sessions, the feedback from the schools has been very positive with staff reporting great results.
Margaret will be visiting the schools again in April 2023 to observe progress and explore further steps schools can take in improving classroom behaviour management and any future training that might be required.
A huge thank you to all those who have helped fund this vital training! And a big shout out to Yvonne and everyone at Partners for Possibility – we truly value your partnership!
