Brilliant Beads!

September 28, 2022

Our bead stall at Holy Innocents wonderful Autumn Fair last Saturday was a great success. The whole event was lovely with something to please everyone; a very popular bouncy castle with a slide and a fabulous puppet show for the kids, live music, gorgeous food, raffles, tombolas and more. Everyone had a great time.

We were given a table in our usual place, just near the entrance, perfect for everyone to see us. We sold lots of beautiful jewellery and lovely Christmas decorations, raising a brilliant £122!

All the items we sell are made in South Africa by Woza Moya & Friends, the award-winning social enterprise project run by the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust in South Africa. Woza Moya was established in 2002, their main objective being to reduce poverty. The project offers local artists and crafters who are impacted by HIV and AIDS, training and support that inspires and enables them to make an income selling their stunning work. To find out more visit: https://www.wozamoya.co.za/about-us/  and https://www.hillaids.org.za/what-we-do/economic-empowerment/#woza-moya

We would like to say a huge thank you to Father Ben and the wonderful congregation of Holy Innocents Church in Hornsey who always make us feel so welcome. A very special thank you to our trustee Helen Ormiston, who worked tirelessly to ensure the whole event was a success and that everyone had a wonderful time. And of course, a big thank you to all the wonderful people who bought our wares – thank you!
