Happy kids, fresh paint. As simple as ABC!

July 30, 2025

Pure joy! Take a look at these incredible photos of the finished classrooms that have transformed by our amazing high school volunteers from Kloof High School and Hillcrest High School, KZN, South Africa! The bright walls, complete with painted numbers and the alphabet, have created such a fresh and fun learning environment.

The best part? Seeing the children’s faces light up as they saw their decorated classrooms for the very first time!

We are so grateful to everyone who made this possible. What a difference a vibrant classroom makes!

But this project is about even more! For the high school pupils taking part, who helped raise funds for materials and cleaned and decorated the classrooms, it was a profound lesson in empathy and understanding.

It’s a powerful reminder that everyone is valuable, and a beautiful example of bridging social and economic divides through shared effort and mutual respect.

Check out this short video – it captures the magic perfectly, with the children excitedly reciting the alphabet and singing the ABC song in their beautiful newly decorated space. This is what making a difference looks like!

To help keep this wonderful project going, please donate here. Every penny you give goes into our projects and every penny goes a long way, thank you!

I learnt that the situation in our local community with regards to adequate learning facilities is far worse than I thought. The project opened my eyes to the struggle that many young learners are facing on a day to day basis.
