On 24th July our very own Dr Margaret Turnbull was a keynote speaker at the School Leadership Forum in Durban, South Africa. The forum was hosted by Partners for Possibility (PfP), a pioneering South African NGO which brings business and education leaders together to mentor school principals in all aspects of leadership and management. PfP enables principals to become ‘change leaders’ in their schools and communities, enhancing the quality of education, improving the school environment and encouraging engagement between parents and teachers leading to real change in society.
We were very excited to be invited to work with PfP and thrilled when Margaret was asked to speak at the forum. And who better to ask – Margaret has many years of experience in education in both the UK and as an adviser to principals and senior teachers in South Africa. She is particularly skilled in supporting struggling schools.

The day went really well with very positive feedback. About a hundred people attended, among whom were principals, vice principals and heads of departments from both primary and secondary schools. Margaret’s talk was on differentiation in the classroom, a topic already promoted within our Teacher Training and School Development project. As a result of the day, Margaret has since been invited to deliver her talk as CPD (continuing professional development) to all members of staff in another three schools.
