Lebo is almost there – can you help her?

June 30, 2020

With the easing of the lock-down in South Africa, some pupils are beginning to return to school. This is the case for Lebo, one of our sponsored students. She is in her final school year and so close to achieving her dream to study Law at university.

Our Lebo

During lockdown, Lebo studied hard online using the data and memory card we purchased for her with your sponsorship help. She also completed her applications to the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the University of the Witwatersrand, and the University of Johannesburg. Lebo’s marks in Term 1 this year were really good, achieving over 80 % for most key subjects. This placed her 7th out of 28 in her class and 35th out of 207 pupils in her year.

But now she is back at school, there are costs of books, stationary and her safe transport to and from school to cover. We need your support to help cover these costs. Every donation, whether large or small, makes a huge difference. If you would like to support Lebo please donate here.

In a recent message to us, Lebo said, “With social distancing, there are lots of precautions and adapting to the new teaching style while doing Matric (Matric is like our A’Levels) is a bit challenging. Hopefully, this term I will be able to catch up on some work and keep my marks as they were before lock-down”

We know you can do it Lebo – go for it! We are behind you all the way!

I would definitely say that I learned to appreciate what I have a lot more; to not take my school, my teachers or even flushing toilets for granted.
